Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Ltd. (SSNNL)

Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Limited (SSNNL) is incorporated to implement the Sardar Sarovar Project (SSP)—one of India’s largest multipurpose water resource projects. SSP provides irrigation, drinking water, and hydropower benefits to Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh. SSNNL is responsible for constructing and maintaining the Sardar Sarovar Dam, canal network, and associated infrastructure. The project irrigates 1.9 million hectares, supplies drinking water to 9,490 villages and 173 towns, and generates 1,450 MW of hydropower. SSNNL also manages water distribution, canal automation, and green energy initiatives like solar power projects on canals.
