North Central Railway (NCR), known as the "Workhorse of Indian Railways," is one of the 19 zones of Indian Railways. It was established by reorganizing parts of the Northern and Central Railway zones. NCR comprises three divisions: Prayagraj, Jhansi, and Agra, and spans across Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Haryana. It plays a vital role in connecting major trunk routes like Delhi–Howrah and Delhi–Mumbai. With over 3,062 km of electrified double-line track, NCR is a key freight and passenger corridor. It has achieved 100% electrification and is actively involved in modernization, safety, and digital initiatives, including GPS-enabled fog safety systems.
