National Transport Authority, Ireland

The National Transport Authority (NTA) is Ireland’s statutory body responsible for planning, regulating, and overseeing public transport services across the country. It succeeded the Dublin Transportation Office and later absorbed the Commission for Taxi Regulation. It manages public service obligation (PSO) contracts, licenses commercial bus and taxi services, and develops transport strategies for cities like Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick, and Waterford. It also promotes active travel infrastructure and integrated ticketing systems under the Transport for Ireland brand.
