National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), India

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is India’s specialized force for disaster response, it is tasked with responding to natural and man-made disasters, including floods, earthquakes, cyclones, and chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) emergencies. Initially formed with 8 battalions, it has now expanded to 16 battalions strategically located across the country. NDRF is known for its rapid deployment, skilled rescue operations, and proactive disaster preparedness. It has earned national and international recognition for its humanitarian efforts, including missions in Nepal, Japan, Türkiye, and Myanmar.
