Ministry of Culture, India is dedicated to preserving and promoting the country’s rich cultural heritage and art. It aims to develop and sustain ways to keep the creative and aesthetic sensibilities of the people active and dynamic. The ministry oversees a wide range of functions, from generating cultural awareness at the grassroots level to promoting cultural exchanges internationally. Initially called the Ministry of Scientific Research and Culture Affairs, it underwent several name changes over the years and finally, its name was again given as Ministry of Culture in 2006.
