    The Karnataka State Highways Improvement Project (KSHIP) is a flagship initiative by the Government of Karnataka aimed at upgrading and expanding the state's road infrastructure. It has modernized over 3,000 km of highways through international funding and best practices. The project has been implemented in phases—KSHIP-I (2001–2008) with World Bank support, and KSHIP-II (2011–2018) with assistance from both the World Bank and Asian Development Bank. KSHIP focuses on improving connectivity, safety, and quality through advanced construction standards, traffic management, and environmental safeguards.
