    The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) is a specialized Central Armed Police Force of India, established following the Sino-Indian War. Tasked with guarding the 3,488 km India-China border, ITBP operates in some of the most challenging terrains, including high-altitude posts ranging from 9,000 to 18,800 feet. It is known for its expertise in mountaineering, skiing, and tactical operations, and also plays a vital role in disaster relief and internal security. ITBP personnel are trained to operate in extreme conditions, often facing sub-zero temperatures.
