Gujarat State Biodiversity Board (GSBB)

The Gujarat State Biodiversity Board (GSBB) has the primary mandate to ensure the conservation of biodiversity, promote sustainable use of biological resources, and facilitate equitable sharing of benefits arising from their utilization. GSBB works closely with local bodies to form Biodiversity Management Committees (BMCs) and prepare People’s Biodiversity Registers (PBRs). It also advises the state government on biodiversity-related policies, manages Access and Benefit Sharing (ABS) mechanisms, and identifies Biodiversity Heritage Sites.
