Development Monitoring and Evaluation Office (DMEO), India

The Development Monitoring and Evaluation Office (DMEO) is an attached office that was formed by merging the Program Evaluation Office (PEO) and the Independent Evaluation Office (IEO). DMEO is mandated to monitor and evaluate government schemes, programs, and initiatives to improve their effectiveness and delivery. It plays a pivotal role in promoting evidence-based policymaking and strengthening the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) ecosystem across India. DMEO also conducts national conferences and collaborates with central and state governments, academic institutions, and other stakeholders to enhance learning and accountability in public policy.
