    The Central Institute of Coastal Engineering for Fishery (CICEF) is a premier technical institution originally known as the Pre-Investment Survey of Fishing Harbours (PISFH), it was set up in collaboration with the FAO of the United Nations to support the development of minor fishing harbours. Renamed as CICEF in August 1983, the institute now provides engineering and economic consultancy for fishery harbours, fish landing centres, and coastal aquaculture farms. It plays a vital role in India's Blue Economy by supporting sustainable fisheries infrastructure and coastal community development.
