The U R Rao Satellite Centre (URSC) is responsible for the design, development, and integration of all Indian satellites. It manages the entire lifecycle of spacecraft, from conceptualization to in-orbit operationalization. The URSC has produced over 100 satellites for a wide array of applications, significantly contributing to India's space program in communication, navigation, earth observation, and space science. It maintains state-of-the-art facilities for building and testing satellites. The center was established as the Indian Scientific Satellite Project (ISSP) and was later named the ISRO Satellite Centre (ISAC). It was again renamed in its current form in 2018.
