Survey of India (SoI)
The Survey of India (SoI) is the oldest scientific agency of the Government of India. As the National Mapping Agency, it is responsible for all matters related to geodesy, photogrammetry, mapping, and map reproduction. In recent years, under the National Geospatial Policy 2022, SoI has been undergoing a transformation to liberalize data access and integrate cutting-edge technologies to provide real-time, high-resolution geospatial data for national development. Its work is foundational for many government and private sector initiatives, including the SVAMITVA scheme for mapping village properties.
