The South Australian State Emergency Service (SES SA) is a volunteer‑based emergency management organisation of the South Australian Government, dedicated to preparing for and responding to emergencies across the state. The SES is the primary control agency for flooding and extreme weather events, including storms and heatwaves, and also undertakes a wide range of rescue operations such as road‑crash rescue, marine and swift‑water rescue, vertical rescue, confined‑space rescue, and structural‑collapse response. Operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, SES SA works closely with other emergency services, including South Australia Police, the Country Fire Service (CFS) and Metropolitan Fire Service (MFS) to protect lives, property and critical infrastructure across metropolitan, regional and remote South Australia.
