Sciensano

Sciensano is Belgium’s national public health institute and a federal scientific institution. It conducts research, surveillance, and risk assessment in the fields of public health, animal health, food safety, and environmental health, applying the “One Health” principle that links human, animal, and environmental well‑being. Sciensano supports public authorities through data collection, laboratories, national reference centres, and scientific advice, and plays a key role in infectious‑disease monitoring and health policy evaluation at national and European level.
