Infrabel SA

Infrabel is Belgium’s national railway infrastructure manager. It is responsible for the construction, maintenance, renewal, and operation of the Belgian rail network, including tracks, signalling, level crossings, catenary, and control systems. Created as part of the liberalisation of the rail sector, Infrabel ensures safe and efficient train traffic for passenger and freight operators, manages capacity allocation and traffic control, and plans major investment projects such as capacity increases, grade separations, and ERTMS roll‑out. With several thousand employees, it plays a central role in Belgium’s sustainable mobility policy and European rail integration.
