Hess Corporation is an American global independent energy company involved in the exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas. The company has a strong presence in shale oil and gas production, deepwater Gulf of Mexico, and is a key natural gas producer and supplier to Peninsular Malaysia and Thailand. It also use its proprietary Compressive Seismic Imaging (CSI) technology for marine seismic surveys. Hess Corporation’s history began in 1933 as Hess Incorporated and in 1969, Hess Oil & Chemical Corporation merged with Amerada Petroleum Corporation to become Amerada Hess, then in 2006, the company changes its name to Hess Corporation.
