The Country Fire Authority (CFA) is Victoria’s volunteer‑based fire and emergency service responsible for protecting rural, regional and outer‑metropolitan communities. Established to coordinate bushfire prevention and response, CFA delivers firefighting, rescue, hazardous‑materials response and community fire‑safety education across most of the state. CFA operates through a statewide network of over 1,200 volunteer brigades, organised into districts and regions, supported by professional operational, training, logistics, communications and corporate divisions.
