    Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) is a statutory body responsible for managing the Bhakra-Nangal and Beas Projects. These projects provide irrigation, hydroelectric power, and flood control to the states of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, and Chandigarh. BBMB operates major dams like Bhakra Dam on the Sutlej River and Pong Dam on the Beas River, along with six powerhouses having a combined installed capacity of 2,954.73 MW. It also maintains extensive water conductor systems and transmission lines. BBMB plays a critical role in ensuring water distribution, power generation, and interstate coordination for resource sharing, contributing significantly to agriculture, industry, and energy security in northern India.
