    The Agricultural and Agrarian Insurance Board (AAIB) of Sri Lanka, established under Act No. 27 of 1973 and restructured by Act No. 20 of 1999, is the sole state institution providing agricultural insurance and social security schemes for farmers and fisher communities. It offers crop, livestock, and general insurance, along with pension and health schemes to mitigate risks from natural disasters and market shocks. Its mission is to strengthen agricultural resilience and ensure economic security for rural communities.
