River Yamuna receives effluents and untreated sewage discharges from major cities, thus becoming heavily polluted. Revival of good quality water is the task at hand for the Government of India and that depends upon water quality modelling and building a decision support system, being fulfilled by DHI. The rejuvenation project of 22km was sanctioned by the National Green Tribunal and the action plan was created by the River Rejuvenation Committee.
