    Project Details

FlyThru, a leading provider of unmanned LiDAR surveys in the UK, partnered with Eurovia Infrastructure to execute a topographical survey for the redevelopment of Old Mill Road in Cheshire. The road is a critical access point for the town, often experiencing heavy traffic flow, necessitating repairs and redesign to optimize usability during peak hours. Traditional on-foot survey methods posed significant safety risks and would have disrupted traffic flow extensively.

To overcome these challenges, FlyThru leveraged advanced UAV LiDAR technology to deliver a full-scale survey while minimizing public disruption. The YellowScan Mapper, equipped with a Livox Horizon laser scanner, was mounted on a DJI Matrice 300 RTK drone for precise data capture. The integration of the YellowScan Camera Module enabled seamless photogrammetry, complementing the LiDAR data. The survey was conducted outside of peak hours to mitigate risks and ensure minimal disturbance. The final deliverables included a detailed point cloud, a digital terrain model (DTM) for ground levels, and an orthomosaic for visual reference, providing essential data for Eurovia's digital construction team.
