Founded in 1885, Michigan Technological University is a public research university. Situated on Michigan's Upper Peninsula, the main campus of Michigan Tech offers expansive views of the Keweenaw Waterway and is in close proximity to Lake Superior. With just over 7,000 students, the university offers more than 120 undergraduate and graduate degrees.

The Michigan Tech team decided to switch to a more interactive map tool after realizing that their current map solution was not assisting them in meeting their objectives for student engagement or admissions. They hired Concept3D to develop the tool.
