    Project Details

The General Directorate for Cadastre demonstrated the critical role of cadastral information in managing natural disasters during the La Palma volcanic eruption and severe flooding events. Updated cadastral datasets of affected areas were delivered daily, analysed with QGIS, and cross-verified with Copernicus Emergency Service imagery. The resulting data—covering parcels, crops, buildings, ownership, and property values at 1:5,000 scale—was disseminated to emergency services and public administrations, providing a comprehensive basis for rapid damage assessment, citizen support, and transparent disaster response.
