    Project Details

A long-term, sustainable plan for the collection, treatment, and reuse of wastewater was implemented in Umm Al Quwain, UAE. The project aimed to find a new solution for the treatment, reuse, and disposal of sewage effluent and biosolids. Previously, untreated domestic waste was discharged into unregulated sites in the desert. Stantec overtook Umm Al Quwain Sewage Treatment Plant project and tackled the urgent need to halt untreated sewage discharge into open-air sites. Using advanced geospatial technologies, the project selected optimal sites and implemented innovative solutions. This transformed wastewater management, enhancing environmental sustainability and public health. Through spatial analysis, tank management systems, and environmental modeling, the project took a step towards resilience, efficiency, and community well-being, setting a benchmark for sustainable infrastructure development.
