French designer Mathieu Lehanneur collaborated with geospatial technology provider PlanetObserver to create a unique faïence collection inspired by the natural colors of the world's oceans. Lehanneur sought to accurately represent 50 distinct shades of blue for his collection, and PlanetObserver's satellite imagery provided the necessary detailed and accurate representations of the oceans and seas. By leveraging this imagery, Lehanneur was able to select the desired hues, resulting in a customized collection that beautifully captured the diversity of ocean colors.
