    Project Details

The A465 Heads of the Valleys Section 5 & 6 project in Wales, spearheaded by FCC Construcción, represents a milestone in road infrastructure enhancement, involving the widening of 17 km of roadway and the construction of 29 bridges, 19 retaining walls, 6 overpasses, and 3 pedestrian bridges. Initially, GIS technology was limited to environmental consulting, but the scale and complexity of the project, compounded by a lack of interconnection between massive datasets, such as BIM models, point clouds, drone imagery, and inspection data, demanded a more holistic approach. By leveraging Esri's advanced GIS technology, FCC transformed the project into a fully interconnected and traceable operation. GIS and BIM integration facilitated seamless data accessibility, robust monitoring systems, and collaborative tools, enabling project stakeholders to overcome data silos and manage the project with unprecedented precision.
