The project involved Robert Carlton-Shields, a South African nut farmer, who sought to enhance the efficiency and productivity of his Macadamia nut farm through IoT solutions. Facing challenges related to soil moisture management and farm optimization, Robert collaborated with u-blox and Pylot to implement cost-effective and reliable IoT connectivity technology. The goal was to streamline irrigation decisions, optimize vehicle maintenance, and improve overall farm management. Through the deployment of u-blox's MQTT Anywhere IoT Communication-as-a-Service solution, Robert gained real-time insights and data analytics capabilities, enabling informed decision-making and resource optimization across his 100-hectare farm.
