Synergizing Safety and Precision at Istanbul Airport using Structural and Geodetic Monitoring

Source: GW Prime
In the initial project phase, the iGA construction team successfully excavated a staggering 750 million cubic meters of soil and efficiently moved 1,300,000 cubic meters of dirt daily. As the project progresses into subsequent phases, construction activities, although scaled down, still carry the potential to induce deformations that could affect nearby runways, apron taxiways, and tarmacs. Consequently, vigilant monitoring is imperative to safeguard and maintain safe and uninterrupted airport operations.
