    Project Details

The Swiss Geoinformation Strategy was launched as a comprehensive national effort to make detailed, reliable, and interoperable geoinformation openly accessible to everyone—from government agencies and businesses to researchers and the public. Developed collaboratively by the Federal Coordinating Agency for Geoinformation, the Conference of Cantonal Geoinformation and Cadastral Survey Directors, and over 30 representatives from the Swiss geo-community, the strategy combines technology, governance, and user engagement to deliver a seamless, real-time, and standardised geoinformation ecosystem. Under the 2024 action plan, it ensures geodata can be easily linked with non-spatial data, supports collective intelligence through open collaboration, and preserves Switzerland’s geoinformation heritage for long-term use.
