Streamlining Election Operations through Digital Workflow and Real-time Tracking

The King County Department of Elections exclusively administers elections through paper ballots, which voters either mail or deposit into one of nearly 70 distributed drop boxes across the county. In spring 2019, the Elections department transitioned to an entirely digital workflow, primarily utilizing Esri GIS products, to securely track drop-box collections. This shift to a fully digital process is notable, as it remains uncommon among elections agencies.
