The Joint Spatial Information Infrastructure, developed under the Green Slovenian Location Framework (GreenSLO4D), is a transformative national initiative aimed at modernising Slovenia’s spatial, real estate, and environmental data systems. By integrating multiple spatial data layers—from flood risk zones to orthophotos and land availability—across six institutions within the Ministry of Natural Resources and Spatial Planning and the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Energy, the project creates a single, coherent digital platform. This infrastructure supports a comprehensive approach to spatial planning, disaster recovery, and sustainable land use by offering a reliable decision-making tool that helps identify suitable replacement land after natural disasters, guides negotiations between authorities and municipalities, and underpins the country’s green transition strategies.
