From July 27 to August 12, 2012, London, UK hosted the 2012 Summer Olympics. The Olympic Delivery Authority, the Olympic Security Directorate, and the London 2012 Organizing Committee worked together with numerous British safety and security organizations to prepare for this event. The achievement of a safe and secure Olympic Games was the overarching objective shared by all parties.

BTP had produced and used a multitude of geographic data, including mapping, aerial imagery, CCTV, and video data, to monitor and support operations across Britain.
