    Project Details

TruePoint Laser Scanning was engaged to provide precise as-built documentation of a coal-fired power plant in Wyoming, which produces 2,110 megawatts of electricity per hour from four 500-foot-high generating units. The plant, crucial to the community, was preparing to install a new emission control system to comply with EPA regulations. Given the gridlock of steel structures and the requirement for key features of the emissions system to be installed above existing support structures, accurate and comprehensive data was critical to avoid conflicts and ensure a seamless installation. TruePoint's team conducted 48 scans over three days using the Leica ScanStation C10, capturing detailed data points with sub-centimeter accuracy.
