    Project Details

In Bucharest, Romania, an innovative project sought to build the city's inaugural residential structure over subway tunnels, introducing distinctive challenges due to its placement within the tunnel protection zone. SAIDEL Engineering assumed responsibility for both structural and geotechnical design, with a primary goal of minimizing the effects on tunnel displacement and structural forces. Faced with the necessity of subway operator approval due to an irregular footprint, SAIDEL ingeniously adapted the structure's shape to align with functional and architectural requirements, successfully overcoming a two-year setback caused by a previous project rejection. The project's focal point rested on the swift and inventive development of excavation plans and foundation design to secure approval and expedite progress.
