    Project Details

The "3D Models of Old Temples" project embodies an innovative blend of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology and cultural heritage conservation. At the heart of the project is the Vettuan Temple, a cultural edifice of historic significance that has been meticulously digitized. This initiative aims to craft an immersive virtual reality (VR) experience that transcends geographical limitations, allowing the temple to be explored globally. Concurrently, the project employs advanced geospatial analysis and additive manufacturing, or 3D printing, to produce precise physical models of the temple. The core objectives of this project are manifold: to preserve the structural and aesthetic integrity of the temple against environmental and human threats; to facilitate global accessibility and educational outreach through digital platforms; to impart knowledge of ancient construction techniques and spatial configurations hidden to the naked eye; and to innovate in the field of historical narrative by presenting the temple's story in a compelling three-dimensional format that engages and educates audiences worldwide.
