    Project Details

Following the devastation caused by the 2018 Camp Fire, the Town of Paradise identified the critical need to rebuild its storm drain network. The severe damage included melted PVC pipes and disrupted drainage infrastructure, heightening the town's vulnerability to storm runoff and flooding.

To address this, Wood Rodgers, Inc. was selected to develop a comprehensive Storm Drain Master Plan (SDMP) using advanced GIS technology. The project involved creating a digital base map of the storm drain infrastructure, analyzing deficiencies, and developing cost-effective solutions to mitigate flooding risks.

The project also included creating a flood information tool to assist residents in understanding flood risks and rebuilding their homes. The tool provided parcel-specific flood extents, projected flood elevations, and rebuilding recommendations, empowering residents to make informed decisions.
