    Project Details

TruePoint was commissioned to perform laser scanning services for the Ford Motor Company Robotics Building at the University of Michigan's North Campus. The task involved creating a detailed 3D model of three separate stairwells within the laboratory building. The objective was to provide precise as-built data to ensure the accurate fabrication and installation of metal handrails. TruePoint utilized the state-of-the-art Leica P40 Scan Station to conduct 70 scans of the stairwells from top to bottom. This meticulous data collection process enabled the creation of an Intensity Map Point Cloud, which formed the basis for an LOD 200 model in AutoCAD 2018.
