An engineering firm required a comprehensive understanding of the existing conditions of a power plant to plan renovations and upgrades efficiently. Laser scanning was employed to create an intelligent 3D BIM model, facilitating accelerated engineering of facility upgrades. The project involved capturing dense piping and pipe runs throughout the facility with 2-4mm accuracy while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
