In Dubai, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) launched a visionary initiative to integrate self-driving vehicles into the city's transportation system, aligning with its ambition to be the world's smartest city. Partnering with Stantec, Virginia Tech Transportation Institute, and Hogan Lovells, the RTA developed a comprehensive "Code of Practice" for autonomous transportation. This code covers everything from testing protocols to legislative frameworks, aimed at achieving Dubai's goal of 25% smart and driverless trips by 2030. The project has garnered recognition for its innovative approach, showcasing Dubai's commitment to shaping the future of urban mobility through cutting-edge technology and collaborative regulation.
