Skytech Research Ltd. aimed to enhance the performance of their Satellite Communication On The Move (SOTM) terminals by integrating VectorNav's VN-200 GNSS-Aided Inertial Navigation System (GNSS/INS). The project aimed to minimize antenna pointing error and optimize uptime and bandwidth efficiency. By utilizing the GNSS/INS technology, Skytech implemented a closed-loop control system that dynamically adjusted antenna pointing to compensate for platform motion. This solution enabled precise satellite tracking and robust communication even in harsh environments. The collaboration between Skytech and VectorNav resulted in improved SOTM system performance, setting new standards for satellite communication mobility.
