    Project Details

Cadent, the UK’s largest gas distribution operator, is dedicated to reducing its environmental impact through innovative solutions. To address the significant methane emissions from its extensive network of over 131,000 km of pipes, Cadent implemented a new approach powered by ArcGIS Online. This solution involves using Picarro’s advanced optical spectroscopy technology installed in survey vehicles to detect methane emissions accurately. The vehicles collect emissions data, GPS coordinates, and meteorological data, which are then seamlessly integrated into ArcGIS Online. The deployment of this technology is a crucial step in Cadent’s Environmental Action Plan, which aims to reduce methane leakage by over 30% by 2030.
