Geological Survey Ireland (GSI) takes an initiative to modernize coastal mapping through advanced geospatial technologies. Facing challenges such as outdated methods and extensive time requirements, GSI partnered with Applanix Corporation and implemented POSPac MMS 8 software along with Trimble CenterPoint RTX for real-time correction. This integration dramatically improved efficiency, accuracy, and safety in hydrographic surveying operations. GSI achieved significant time and cost savings, reduced risks, and enhanced data quality, underscoring the transformative impact of geospatial technologies in coastal mapping endeavors.
