Storm Geomatics Ltd. and Stantec started the River Ryburn survey project for Yorkshire Water to inform a flood risk assessment study. The challenging terrain, including heavily wooded areas and steep riverbanks, necessitated innovative surveying solutions. Utilizing geospatial technologies such as total station setups and contactless measurement features, surveyors successfully navigated obstacles while prioritizing safety. Proactive risk assessment, including delaying surveying during hazardous conditions, ensured project efficiency and accuracy.
