Storm Geomatics Ltd. conducted a comprehensive watercourse survey in collaboration with the Environment Agency and JBA Consulting Limited, aimed at assessing flood risk in Southeast England. The survey, spanning various reaches and over 34,000 meters of watercourse, encountered significant challenges, particularly in surveying the ecologically sensitive RSPB Minsmere nature reserve. Leveraging advanced geospatial technologies such as Trimble Business Centre and GeoRiver®, alongside innovative solutions like floatation platforms, the project successfully navigated these challenges. By ensuring minimal disturbance to wildlife habitats and streamlining data processing, the survey delivered accurate and efficient results crucial for informing flood risk management strategies.
