    Project Details

    Deutsche Telekom collaborates with Fraunhofer IPM and Trimble Inc. to deploy advanced geospatial technologies for precise mapping of urban environments. It utilizes the precise maps of urban streets created by Fraunhofer IPM to optimize the planning for new fiber-optic cables, enhancing its infrastructure development efforts. This project employs a complex system incorporating Fraunhofer IPM's customized mobile mapping technology, including LiDAR and cameras, integrated with Trimble's Applanix POS LV for precise positioning. The system captures detailed mapping and surface data of urban roads and surface areas, addressing the challenge of efficiently retrieving and processing mapping data through cloud-based solutions. The resulting data is crucial for Deutsche Telekom in optimizing infrastructure planning and deployment in urban environments.
