    Project Details

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) collaborated with Ordnance Survey (OS) to address critical gaps in elderly care provision across England by leveraging advanced geospatial technologies. Through the utilization of geospatial data analysis, the project aimed to ensure convenient access to care homes for the aging population while enabling them to remain within their communities. By integrating diverse datasets and utilizing open-source coding tools, the initiative sought to quantify driving distances from care facilities to population centers, thereby facilitating evidence-based decision-making for healthcare planning.
