    Project Details

The Alaska Coastal Mapping Initiative, prompted by the 2019 Presidential Memorandum, aims to develop a comprehensive coastal map of Alaska by 2030. Led by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and carried out by NV5 Geospatial, the initiative focuses on mapping the complex Southeast Alaska shoreline using advanced technologies like bathymetric LiDAR. The goal is to integrate inland terrain and offshore subsurface information, aligning with the broader effort to enhance ocean mapping in the U.S. Exclusive Economic Zone.
