MRC de Coaticook, nestled in the Eastern Townships of Québec, faced challenges in modernizing its geomatics division and land use planning processes. With 12 rural municipalities under its purview, the regional municipality struggled with outdated paper-based maps and siloed data management systems. To address these challenges, MRC de Coaticook embarked on a digital transformation journey, leveraging Esri's ArcGIS technology to create interactive maps, web apps, and story maps for residents. MRC de Coaticook recognized the imperative to embrace GIS to meet growing expectations from residents and government alike.
