    Project Details

Environmental scientist Luc Moreau and his team at the Edytem Laboratory have been leveraging Leica Geosystems’s 3D laser scanning technology to monitor the impact of climate change on Alpine glaciers, particularly focusing on the Mer de Glace glacier in the Chamonix Valley. With glaciers retreating at an alarming rate due to rising temperatures, the team aims to understand the hydraulic phenomena occurring within glacier crevasses, such as water storage and ice deformation.
