Muscat Electricity Distribution Company (MEDC) undertook a transformative initiative to enhance its asset management practices, particularly focusing on streamlining the inspection process for its distribution substations (DSS). Historically, paper-based inspections were prone to errors and inefficiencies, leading to challenges in data accuracy and transparency. To address these issues, MEDC adopted a mobility-based inspection process leveraging GIS technology.
